Stair and Hallway Cleaning Checklist

  • Dust All Ceilings to Remove Any Cobwebs
Inspect and dust the ceilings to remove any cobwebs or accumulated dust. Use a long duster or vacuum attachment to reach higher areas and ensure the ceiling is free from debris.

  • Clean All Banisters and Spindles
Wipe down and clean the banisters and spindles to remove dust, fingerprints, and any dirt buildup. Pay special attention to high-touch areas like the top of the banister and along the spindles, which can gather grime over time.

  • Wipe Down Skirtings
Dust and wipe down all skirting boards along the walls of the hallway and stair area. Use a damp cloth to clean off any dust, dirt, or marks, and ensure the edges are neatly wiped to maintain a tidy appearance.

  • Hoover or Mop the Stairs
Vacuum the stairs thoroughly, paying attention to corners, edges, and the treads where dirt can accumulate. If the stairs are hard-surfaced (such as wood or tile), mop them to remove any remaining dirt or marks, ensuring they’re spotless and well-maintained.
